Hamid Sajjadi, MD, FACS Reviewed by on . I visited Dr. Sajjadi for contact lenses. I couldn't wait to get home to write this for the people who are considering making an appointment with him. I had an appointment with him at 12 o'clock sharp. Being the on time person that I am, I arrived there 10 minutes early just to fill out the information sheet so I would be able to see him right at 12. I was told that the doctor is on his way and was escorted to a room. After doing some small examinations, I sat in the room for 45 minutes waiting for the doctor to arrive. At 12:46, I hear the doctor talking to his secretary about some news of a plane crash somewhere. I was surprised that he didn't care enough to attend to me first (his patient who had been waiting for him for almost an hour) before going on rampage about the latest news. I walked out of the room while he was still talking, to maybe get his attention. I was wrong. He just stood there and continued talking. I went back to my room and waited some more. He walked in the room a little bit after and started talking to me like I was an inconvenience to him. He didn't even care enough to apologize for my wait. I mean I know you are a doctor but please have some courtesy for your patient. We are the customers and you are the seller. We pay you and that's how you make your money, from us! Anyways he started out examining me and I kept asking him about the terms he used about my eye. He tells me I will explain it to you later ( which he never actually did). The total time I spent with him in that room was around 13 minutes. He never discussed what kind of contacts I wanted and which would be better to use and ect.. He just tried to talk me about Lasik surgery. I got more information out of his secretary than of him (the doctor). I mean for god sakes you are suppose to explain and answer our questions. We come to you and pay you in hopes of getting some answers. Since he had been late to my appointment, he was in rush to get to his other patients. Once my work was done, the doctor left without saying anything to me and I was left there confused and not knowing what to do. So my point is that there are so many other better doctors whom unlike Dr, Sajjadi are organized and actually care about their patients. Please don't go to this doctor if you are not trying to waste your time and money. Rating: 3out of 2 based on 2 ratings. 2 user reviews.

Office Tour

Our office is more like a family of close-knit individuals who strive to improve the lives of our patients. Even the patients themselves become family and make the office the place that it is. Many times our own patients with severe diseases of the eye end up counseling the next patient. The people working in the office are astounding human beings that make every work day an enjoyable and delightful experience. Thanks to the people who commit their hours to this office and the patients that always seem to return, the office is like a second home with a life of its own.

Meet the Staff

  • Farida Tariverdi - An American-Iraqi that fled the ruthless dictatorship of Saddam Hossein for USA. She is fluent in English, Arabic, Assyrian and Spanish. She can communicate enough for our work in Kurdish, Turkish and Farsi. She is our Ophthalmic Technician. She first started working with us in 2003.
  • Ali Kamyab PhD, - Who is our Office Manager, Accountant and Biller with us for 6 years. He is fluent in English and Farsi.

Services Offered

Lasik, PRK, Wavefront or Custom Ablation, Femotoseconds Flap Laser (No Blade Full Lasik), both Small Spot and Large Beam Laser for Lasik.

ICL or Permant Intraocular Contact Lense which is actually a Collymar unlike contact lenses that the body tolerates much better, this procedure is for people with thin Corneas and people whose Corneal power drops below 36.50 with Lasik.
Corneal power below 36.50 results in night blindness that gets worse as the power of cornea decreases. A 35.00 dioter power reduces night contrast sensitivity about 20%. A less than 30.00 power reduces it almost 100%. I personally recommend keeping the corneal power to more than 39.00 which is about the lowest someone naturally may have.
Intac rings for keratoconus to prevent progression of the disease and prevent or delay corneal transplantation.
relaxing incisions for astigmatism with diamond tip.

Blepharoplasty uppper and lower. Patient should know that doing upper and lower together increases risks of bleeding behind the eye and loss of vision. We usually do upper and lower together. Usually 1 month apart if needed.
corneal transplantation for variety of disease, scars and keratoconus.

Crossed Eye surgery (Strabismus) for children and Adults with Crossed Eyes.

Technology

New Surgical Modalities: Wavefront Lasik. No blade Lasik with Femtosecond Laser technology. ICL and Corneal Intact Rings. Diagnostic: Corneal Topography map, great information on shape of the cornea. Ocular CT: (OCT) that will show diseases of the central retina and optic nerve. OCT of optic nerve can diagnose glaucoma or brain tumors or pressure sometime before there are any other signs or symptoms. We diagnose several patients with Pseudotumor Cerebri and usually one brain tumor per year with OCT.
