I am impressed and glad to be a patient. Very high-tech, friendly staff. Certainly not an average dentist. If I were pressed to criticize I'd say soo friendly to the point of being a little too friendly. I'd rather too friendly than the alternative though!

I would recommend PVD for the following reasons:

1) The staff here are very professional and nice.

2) The dental hygienist there is great- she explains to you before she does anything, is very gentle and wants you to tell her if you are feeling any pain so she can make you feel as comfortable as possible.

3) They are very up to date on all the latest technology and show you what is going on with your mouth right in front of you on their computers so you can understand for yourself.

Beware that if you cancel w/in 48 hours of your appt. there is a $20 fee.

Actually my second visit in about a month with Dr. Wong. There's an informative orientation on the first visit detailing the credentials of the entire staff & the technology used in the office, which is very current. There is a real emphasis here on making any procedure as pain-free as possible & explaining any work to be done fully & plainly. Dr. Wong was very capable, competent, & understanding. He doesn't seem phased by anything & isn't the slightest bit judgmental. Going to the dentist is already something nobody looks forward to. Getting some preachy lecture in addition to all the other horrors commonly associated with a visit to the dentist is not encouragement to return regularly for the proper care. The dentists & staff at Pleasant Valley Dental understand this.

This place is not your average dentist. I HATE the dentist. They are too invasive (I'm a control freak). However, as soon as I get to Dr. Hokmabadi, I was distracted with the awesome technology and his brief life story, nonetheless, he asked me what I wanted to do today for the visit. I was a little shocked. Usually, dentists ask you to open up, do their invasive thing by looking and poking around in your mouth, in sentence a verdict. Not here. They treated me like a human being! I was soooooo excited!

Oh, I have terrible teeth because of this dentist phobia thing, but this place has a great person who works there: CYNTHIA. She did my deep cleaning and other oral hygiene and maintenance. She noticed my VERY LOW pain tolerance and is ever so aware of it. I snuck a peek at my file and noticed she wrote, "TLC" above my name :) I've become loyal to this place.

Not only is it great dental work but it is also cost effective. The deep cleaning was sort of expensive but with the insurance and all, they worked with me and broke it down into easy installment plans for me (student).

So why is it great?!

1) Great service
2) No pain and lots of encouragement
3) it's pricing is reasonable

GO GET THEM TEETH DONE HERE!

I've been going to Pleasant Valley Dental for the last year or so and have had nothing but a positive experience! Dr. Hokmabadi makes the experience as quick and painless as possible. He's super patient and professional in answering any questions/concerns I've had along the way with my dental care. I've recommended multiple family and friends to this office and they've all had nothing but good things to say as well! Finally, a dentist I don't have to DREAD going to!
